Fully self-contained mobile detailing across Melbourne's south-east. We bring our own water and power to your driveway, and you get a fixed price before we start.
Interior car detailing is a deep clean of everything inside the cabin, and it is the service that makes the biggest difference to how a car feels to drive. Your Local Mobile Car Detailing works top down at your address, starting dry to lift loose debris and pet hair, then moving to hot water extraction on carpets and fabric seats so dirt is pulled out rather than pushed further in. Leather is cleaned with a pH-neutral product and conditioned rather than coated in a greasy dressing. We hand clean the areas that get skipped, including air vents, seat runners, seat-belt webbing, door shuts, the centre console and the boot well. Products are low-odour and pH-neutral, which matters if kids or pets travel in the car. Everything is dried properly before we leave so nothing goes musty. Call 0413 242 485.

Interior work splits into a few clear categories, and the right one depends on what has gone wrong rather than how the cabin looks at a glance. The standard interior detail is a full deep clean of every surface, and it suits a car that has simply accumulated a year or two of ordinary use. A stain-focused job is different: one significant spill, usually milk, coffee or a soft drink, that needs targeted treatment rather than a whole-cabin clean. Pet-focused work is its own category because hair removal is mechanical rather than chemical and adds real time to a job, and it is common across the family suburbs we serve. Then there are the odour jobs, where the cabin smells wrong and cleaning has already failed, which usually means the source is in the underlay, the cabin filter or the air-conditioning system rather than on any visible surface. Fabric and leather interiors need different treatment throughout, and cars carrying child restraints have their own set of high-mess zones around and under the seats. We identify which of these applies before quoting, rather than pricing every cabin the same.

The interior is cleaned in a strict order because moisture is the enemy of a good result. Everything starts dry: loose debris, crumbs and pet hair are lifted mechanically, with a rubber brush pulling hair out of carpet fibres before a vacuum can do anything useful with it. Work then moves from the headliner and dash down through the seats to the carpets, so anything dislodged is caught by the next stage rather than landing on a surface already finished. Carpets and fabric seats are pre-sprayed with an appropriate cleaner and given time to dwell, agitated, then hot water extracted, which injects solution and immediately draws it back out under vacuum. That distinction matters enormously: a shampoo-and-wet-vac approach saturates the carpet and leaves water in the underlay, and underlay that stays wet in a cold Melbourne week is how a car ends up smelling of mildew. Leather is cleaned with a pH-neutral product and conditioned, never scrubbed with an alkaline cleaner that dries and cracks the coating, and perforated leather is treated carefully because solution that goes through the holes ends up inside the seat foam. Hard surfaces get a low-VOC matt dressing, glass is done last, and everything is dried before we pack up.

The two complaints we hear most about previous interior cleans are that the car came back damp and later smelled musty, and that it came back smelling overwhelmingly of artificial fragrance. Both are symptoms of the same shortcut, which is cleaning the surface, adding scent, and skipping the drying. We use controlled moisture and dry as we go, and we do not use masking fragrance at all, so if a smell is still there afterwards you will know about it rather than have it hidden for a fortnight. We also clean the areas that get quietly skipped, and there is a consistent list: seat runners, the gap between seat and console, air vent slats, seat-belt webbing, the boot well and the spare wheel area, and around child restraint anchor points. In the newer estates around Clyde and Clyde North, the recurring interior issue is fine construction dust and fresh topsoil walked in from unfinished landscaping, which settles into carpet pile and vents and needs extraction rather than wiping. And the 24-hour guarantee covers interiors the same as anything else: find something missed, tell us, and we come back.

A full interior detail with hot water extraction typically runs $220 to $350 across Melbourne, while a lighter interior clean, meaning a thorough vacuum, surface clean and glass without full extraction, generally sits around $99 to $150. Size is a factor, since a seven-seater has a third row, more carpet and considerably more glass than a hatchback. Condition matters more. Heavy pet hair commonly adds $50 to $100 because of the manual lifting involved, deep sand adds a similar amount, and a spill that has gone through the carpet into the underlay can add an hour by itself. Stain treatment on leather, or reconditioning of leather that has already dried and started to crack, is quoted separately because the outcome depends heavily on how far it has gone. We ask about pets, spills, sand and vehicle size when quoting specifically so the number does not change on the day. Call 0413 242 485 and describe the cabin honestly, including the bits you are embarrassed about, and you will get an accurate figure.

A wash and vacuum is surface-level and takes under an hour: loose debris removed, surfaces wiped, glass done. It keeps an already-clean cabin tidy and it is the right choice on a regular cycle. An interior detail goes into the material itself, extracting what has worked down into carpet pile and fabric weave, and it is what you need when vacuuming has stopped making a visible difference. A full detail is an interior detail plus the complete exterior treatment, and it is more economical than booking the two separately if the paint also needs attention. There is a fourth option worth naming honestly, which is doing it yourself, and for surface work with a decent vacuum it is entirely reasonable. Where DIY hits a wall is extraction, because a domestic wet vacuum does not generate the suction to pull solution back out of carpet, which is why home attempts so often leave a car damp and smelling worse. If your cabin needs nothing more than a tidy, book the wash and vacuum and keep the difference.

A full detail without leaving your driveway. We arrive fully self-contained with our own water and power, quote a fixed price before a drop touches your paint, and hand the car back cleaner than the day you bought it.

Inside and out, top to bottom, in one visit at your own driveway. Decontaminated and protected paint, extracted carpets and seats, and cleaned door jambs, vents and seat rails, which are the areas most detailers quietly skip.

Seats that come up clean without being soaked. We match the method to the material, extraction for fabric and a pH-neutral clean and condition for leather, and dry everything properly before we pack up and leave.

Tell us your car, your suburb and what needs doing. You get a fixed price and a firm arrival window up front.

We turn up fully self-contained with our own water and power, walk the car with you, then get straight into it.

We finish with a walkaround so you can check every panel. Spot something in the next 24 hours and we come back.
A proper interior detail covers a full vacuum including under and between the seats, in the seat rails and throughout the boot, then hot water extraction of carpets, floor mats and fabric seats to lift embedded dirt. Leather and vinyl get a pH-neutral clean and a conditioner rather than a shiny dressing. Hard surfaces including the dash, console, door cards and steering wheel are cleaned and finished with a low-VOC matt dressing that does not attract dust or leave a greasy sheen. The detail work is in the small areas: air vent slats, seat-belt webbing, cup holders, door shuts, the headliner if it is marked, and the boot well and spare wheel area. Glass is done last so it stays streak-free.
For most people it is the highest-value detailing service available, because you spend all your driving time looking at the interior and almost none looking at the paint. It also protects value, since interior condition is one of the first things a buyer or a lease assessor judges, and set-in stains and odours are far harder to remove after another year of driving. The one situation where it is not worth it is a car about to be scrapped or sold cheaply as-is. If the cabin merely looks untidy rather than dirty, a wash and vacuum at a fraction of the price will get you most of the way, and we will tell you if that is the case.
Vacuum first, always, and work top down while you do it. If you wipe surfaces first, the dust and grit you disturb settles onto the seats and carpets you were about to clean, and you end up doing the job twice. Working top down means the headliner and dash come before the seats, and the seats before the carpets, so anything that falls is picked up by the stage that follows. The other reason to vacuum first is abrasion: wiping a dusty dash with a damp cloth drags fine grit across soft-touch plastics and can leave micro-scratching that shows up badly in sunlight.
If the job is done properly, the carpets should feel barely damp when we leave and be fully dry within a few hours. That comes down to method rather than luck. Hot water extraction injects a controlled amount of solution and immediately vacuums it back out under suction, unlike a wet vacuum or a shampoo-and-mop approach which saturates the carpet and leaves water sitting in the underlay. In Melbourne winter we use less moisture, work in stages and dry as we go, because damp underlay in a cold car is exactly how a musty smell develops a week later. If your car has come back from a previous clean smelling worse than before, over-wetting is almost always the reason.
Usually, yes, though each needs a different approach. Spilt milk is a protein stain and needs an enzyme treatment, because the smell comes from bacteria feeding on residue that has soaked into the underlay, and simply cleaning the surface leaves the source in place. Coffee and soft drink respond well to a pre-spray with dwell time followed by hot water extraction. Pet hair is mechanical rather than chemical: it has to be lifted with a rubber brush or a pumice-style tool first, because a vacuum alone will not pull hair that is woven into carpet fibres. Heavy pet hair typically adds $50 to $100 to a job for that reason, and we will tell you up front if we think that applies.
We use pH-neutral, biodegradable interior products and low-VOC dressings, which means low odour and no lingering solvent smell in the cabin. This is deliberate rather than incidental, because a lot of cheap interior work relies on strong artificial fragrance to signal cleanliness, and that fragrance is exactly what irritates children with asthma and anyone sensitive to scent. We also avoid glossy silicone dressings on the dash and steering wheel, both because they attract dust and because they leave a slippery finish on a surface you grip. If anyone in the family has a specific sensitivity or allergy, tell us when booking and we will adjust what we use.
